Thomas J. Watson Sr. joins CTR

Thomas J. Watson Sr. joins CTR as general manager on May 1st 1914. Within 11 months of joining CTR, Watson became president of the company.

In 1924, CTR became International Business Machines, better known as IBM.

Early in his career, Watson developed the simple slogan "Think", which became ubiquitous in IBM.
