TechTalk: Matt Syrett - A Career in 3D Art - Thursday 10th March 2022
Description : Join us at the Centre for Computing History for a talk on a career in video games and 3D art.
Matt Syrett graduated with a MA in Animation and Special Effects from Sheffield Hallam University. Over the summer He started working as a Senior 3D Artist for Vegas City creating 3D content for Decentraland, an open-source digital world built on the Ethereum Blockchain. He has had experience working on a range of games/serious games projects on a range of different platforms. He has worked on a VR project for the USAF, a Mobile Football Manager game for mobile and Virtual Production for an advert for NOW TV. Alongside working on projects for clients Matt released a game called Sure Footing on PC and Xbox with his own company called Table Flip Games. Matt has also worked in the higher education sector for over 9 years, more recently finishing 6 years at ARU Cambridge as a Senior/Course Leader for the MA course. In this talk, Matt will discuss what he studied as a student at the University and how he started working on live projects for clients alongside his 9 years of being a lecturer at higher education institutes across the country. He will also talk about making his own game with Table Flip Games as well as his current job role as a senior 3D artist at Vegas City.
