Sony releases PSP in Japan

12th December 2004 The PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a handheld game console developed by Sony. The PSP was the first handheld device in the PlayStation range. The PSP was first announced as being in development during E3 2003. The final product was unveiled at a press conference on 11th May 2004. The PSP was released in Japan on 12th December 2004, in North America on 24th March 2005, and in the PAL region on 1st September 2005. Related information: Image:
