Dots and Dashes - Thursday 22nd February 2024
Description : Thought that coding began with computers? Think again. This workshop will transport you back to the 1850s, when the first transatlantic telegraph cable was laid. We'll be using Morse Code to send messages across the ocean. The hard bit is decrypting the code at the other end! If you can crack this first electronic code, you'll be some way to understanding how modern computer code works. The session is aimed at children aged 7 years and above and is ideal for children at the KS2 level. This workshop session is priced at £10 per participant and includes entry to the museum! For participants under the age of 14, we require an accompanying adult to attend the workshop alongside them. Accompanying adult tickets can be purchased for the normal museum entry price of £10. Date: Thursday 22nd February 2024 This workshop will start promptly at 11 am, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early. Spaces for these exciting hands-on events are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place. Payment is taken by PayPal immediately. Please print a copy of the receipt that is displayed at the end of the payment process and bring it with you as your e-ticket. Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum! |
