Eco Project Repair Café - Saturday 9th of August 2025
Description : The Centre for Computing History is proud to host its first-ever Repair Café, celebrating sustainability, community, and the joy of fixing things! Visitors are invited to bring their broken tech, small electronics, and other fixable items— to work with our skilled volunteers to bring them back to life. Whether it’s a vintage computer, a faulty toaster, or something in between, our aim is simple: to reduce waste, share knowledge, and empower people to repair rather than replace. Date: 09/08/2025 Time: 2pm-5pm Location: Centre for Computing History, Cambridge Tickets: Free entry, just book a repair slot first by clicking the link below! https://forms.gle/TgaiV5o9CpSrz2zc8 What you can expect:
Cakes will be provided from the Cambridge Sustainable Food Why a Repair Café? The project is funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund, run by the Museums Association. The exciting initiative will engage the local community in exploring the environmental and social impacts of the tech boom. Suitable for all the family. No need to book. The museum will still have all its usual exhibits available to enjoy. To make this event as accessible tickets are free! Please order a ticket for every person, whether adult or child, who wishes to attend. Tickets include access to the museum for the rest of the day.
Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum! |
