BTBE Spoken Word and Poetry Event!

Here are some of the poems of the incredible poems made by the volunteer participants and staff of the project ahead of the launch event. We can't wait to see their performances and cheer everyone on. We hope that the BTBE spoken word event can be a chance for visitors to get creative and tell their stories about the environment and our collection through the power of spoken word!

Join us on the 1st of June from 10-5pm to have a chance to write your own poems and creative writing piece with the support of our professional poet, Noa Smith! The event will include lots of great prizes for the best performances and poems! Not every poem needs to be read aloud, we also will have activities to delve into our collections magazines and books to create blackout poetry! Examples have also been made from magazines as old as 1983!
