Discovery Box Workshop
Description : The Centre for Computing History is delighted to announce six reduced ticket entry Family Activity Days at the museum. This has been made possible with funding from Cambridge City Council. The third activity is a Discovery Box Activity for the whole family to enjoy. We hope to allow low income families in Cambridge to access their local history, support wellbeing, and build confidence and skills. To ensure full engagement and maximum benefit, we will ask for a commitment to attend at least three days - although we hope many families will attend all six. We are planning six hands-on workshops with differentiated activities, allowing participation irrespective of age and skill level. Workshops will include: Micro:Bit and BBC Basic coding and Computing History Discovery Boxes. As well the opportunity to learn new skills and build confidence, these sessions will aim to reduce stress, improve wellbeing, strengthen family dynamics, and provide families of any size and shape with a much-needed break from everyday pressures. Free refreshments will be offered, and families will be invited to spend the whole day at the museum. We will provide information about other free or low-cost cultural opportunities in Cambridge. Remember - All proceeds go to support our Computing Museum! |
