Capacity Planning Extended is an OS/VS capacity planning and analysis aid which executes under the system for Generalized Performance Analysis Reporting Capacity Planning Extended directly supports "Understanding your System and Application growth Environment." and automates any of the manual calculations associated with the capacity planning technique. The use of Capacity Planning Extended, however, is not restricted to "Understanding your system and application growth environment," which concentrates on measurements of CPU utilization. capacity planning extended  provides a way to extract many system management facilities (SMF) measurements, summarize then, and store then on a history file. users can then request reports that qualify those measurements over selected historical time periods and project growth of the measurements the future time periods. Generalized performance analysis reporting facilities can also be used to prepare graphs and distributions of both SMF and history data.

This manual describes capacity planning extended and how to install and use it. It also describe "understanding your system and application growth environment" and incudes guidelines to assist users in implementing this capacity planning extended. Examples of capacity planning extended commands statements and JCL are included as wall as a sample problem to assist users in installing the product.

This manual is provided for data processing executives and installation management, as well as members of their staffs who are engaged in or want to adopt capacity planning in their installations.
