Microelectronics - The New Technology

A promotional document published by the Department of Industry in 1979 to spread knowledge about microelectronics.  The rise of the integrated circuit, commonly known as the silicon 'chip', revolutionised electronics and computing by dramatically reducing the size, cost and power consumption of electronics.  This document shows how the UK government approached this new technology.

This document provides a technical introduction to the possibilities of the microchip and the way they are produced, not unlike an encyclopedia entry, rather than giving specific buyers advice.  This makes it an excellent historical document.
