Meandering Micro:bits - Wednesday 29th May 2024

Description : Come and join us for some remote-controlled fun with the micro:bit! We will be using a pre-built buggy kit as our vehicle and micro:bit’s MakeCode interface to program the micro:bit. By programming two micro:bits per vehicle, we can use one as a driver to slot into the buggy kit and the other one as a controller that will ‘talk’ to the driver and help the buggy navigate a racetrack! This workshop is aimed at children aged 10 years and older and is ideal for children at upper Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3 level. This workshop session is priced at £15 per participant and includes entry to the museum! For participants under the age of 14, we require an accompanying adult to attend the workshop alongside them. Accompanying adult tickets can be purchased for the normal museum entry price of £12. Please note that we will be using our classroom kits for the session and you will not be able to take these away at the end. We will however have micro:bit kits available for sale in our shop to purchase. Date: Wednesday 29th May 2024

This workshop will start promptly at 11 am, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early. Although the event booking is for a specific time, entry to the Centre is permitted all day. The Centre is open from 10am. Snacks will be available from our Pac-Lunch Shop. There's plenty of seating for parents :) Spaces for these exciting hands-on events are limited, so booking is required to ensure your place. Payment is taken by PayPal immediately. Please print a copy of the receipt that is displayed at the end of the payment process and bring it with you as your e-ticket. Cancellations: Due to the limited number of places available for this event, we are unable to refund tickets when cancelled less than 7 days before the event.
